All day... any road! With a more endurance-oriented geometry and wider tyre clearance than the original Belgie, the Belgie Spirit is the bike to help you rediscover your spirit of adventure.
The original Belgie has a proud history. It has two strong Trans Am bike race finishes in 2015 and 2016 including a victory in the 2015 event. The endurance experience within the Curve family has been instrumental in the design of the Belgie Spirit. Weeks of endurance racing experience in the toughest bike-packing races in the world have informed the design. It's the perfect all-roader!
After the launch of the original race-oriented titanium Belgie we were inundated with requests for an endurance road bike, one that could handle any road in relative comfort. Our response is the all new titanium Belgie Spirit.
We love nothing more than giving our products a solid workout in the wild. As I type this Curve super-ambassador, Ryan Flinn, is riding a Belgie Spirit 450 km from the Loire Valley to London with Curve co-owner Adam Lana (Adam is doing the ride on his CXR). The start of the ride featured a mix of quiet sealed roads and gravel through sunflower and lavender fields in a 340 km race to catch the last ferry for the day across the English Channel. The Belgie Spirit has performed flawlessly across the variety of terrain. Ryan has ridden a multitude of road bikes in his time, from steel to carbon, and he has reported that the Belgie Spirit is the most comfortable bike he's ridden.
In a further validation of the Belgie Spirit design, Dave Edwards (of With all I Have) is about to embark on a global Everesting mission, with five Everesting efforts in five different countries over two weeks including the intimidating Mauna Kea in Hawaii. We're super excited about his mission and looking forward to hearing the war stories.
With tyre clearance from 700 x 25c - 700 x 32c you'll be able to hang with your favourite road bunch rides as well as head out for extended gravel adventures! You'll just need to change tyres.
To complete the frame we've chosen flat mount disc brakes and secure 12 x 100 mm front and 12 x 142 mm rear thru axles for extra stiffness. In a departure from the original Belgie stay design, we've incorporated compound, curved seat stays for small bump relief. Titanium gives you a ride quality that is second to none. Stiff where it counts for laying down power but compliant enough to smooth out the rough stuff.
We can configure your Belgie Spirit with all the usual adventure bike options: rack mounts, a third bottle cage mount and fender mounts. If you have any other options that you've dreamed just get in touch to discuss how we can incorporate them!
We're super proud of our new Belgie Spirit and stoked to unleash it into the wild. We know you're going to love it as much as we do. Get in touch to discuss frame, frameset and complete build options to suit your adventure needs.
