FAQs

What Tires Can I Run? So many choices! The general rule we follow is to fit tyres at the wider end of what your frame and fork can fit. As a guide - W35's are suitable for a range from 700 x 40 - 29 x 2.6. W40's are good for 700 x 50 - 29 x 3.0. There is obviously a sweet spot in the middle but the usable range is wide.
Why Brass Nipples? Although brass nipples are slightly heavier than alloy nipples, they are less likely to corrode (and then potentially seize) like alloy nipples can. They are durable, and better suited to heavy use riding that we at CURVE encourage.
Can I Customise the Build? Definitely. DIRT HOOPS are available as rim only. You can then configure your wheels anyway you want. As long as your hubs of choice are 28h.
Why only 28h? Currently we only support the most common hole configuration for Off-Road applications. With a 28h custom wheel build you can obtain competitive Weight Weenie-ish XC configurations up to super robust expedition strength wheels.
What Tyre Pressure to Run? Wow... We get asked this so often and we don't even manufacture tyres. Follow the guide on your tyre and have fun experimenting +/- a few PSI's for feel.
What does "ERD" and "Spoke L. F&R NDS & DS" mean? This is for the wheel builders and those who want to know their spoke lengths. ERD stands for Effective Rim Diameter, measured at the spoke hole (external).
"Spoke L. F&R NDS & DS" is the length of spoke for the Front and Rear Non-Drive Side and Drive Side
