Aloha! I’m a Geographer with a purpose to understand the complexities of the world through spatial understanding and a passion for cycling. I often find myself combining my passion and purpose to explore the world on two wheels, while focusing on the variety of spatial variables in cycling. Currently, I focus on climbing challenges and road riding, however the Curve Cycling community is certainly piquing my interest to the world of ultra-endurance bike packing, where planning your route and mapping is crucial!

I first got into cycling when I was 15, after watching the Tour de France, and exploring the Tour Dupont route in the Appalachian Mountains with my cousin. I was hooked and I quickly saved up for my first road bike, enjoying going on long rides to see new places, no matter if it was rain, shine, or snow. As I began my professional career, I ended up taking an 11-year hiatus from the bike, but as I was faced with the reality of getting my health back on track I picked the bike back up. After moving to Hawaii, the welcoming cycling community got me hooked once again, as I first participated in the Honolulu Century ride, and explored many places for the first time on the island on two wheels.

I recently was fortunate to get to explore more new places on the Island of Hawai’i with Curve’s Kev GXR, a bike that has certainly expanded my goals for 2022, into longer rides on any terrain, and for me embodies, the ability to race ride seek and explore the world around us.

  • Favourite Ride
  • So far, the Kilauea Climb up Chain of Craters Road in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. It’s a beautiful ride starting at the ocean with a natural arch and climbing your way up multiple recent lava flows, to the current summit eruption at Halema‘uma‘u crater.
  • Achievements
  • I really enjoy climbing on my bike, and undoubtedly reaching the summits of 3 volcanoes on the Island of Hawai’i was an emotional journey I’ll never forget.
