Start: Melbourne Town Hall
Finish: Whippets Workshop
Surface: Mixed terrain - sealed roads, bike paths, gravel roads and sand

Curve will run the Dirty Valda as a spirited social ride starting on Sat 7 Sep 2024. Roll out will be at 6:22am from the Melbourne Town Hall, the route finishes at Whippets Workshop in Stepney, South Australia.

A MAProgress page will be created for some 'dot watching' fun, for those who want to use a tracking device.

Expect a bit of everything on this course, lots of riding, some hiking, a taste of singletrack, black top, sand, big towns and tiny ones, forests, rivers, plains and climbs. Some basic logistics information will be provided to assist your planning. The distances between resupply points and water may look manageable, but careful planning and preparation will be required; opening times are not always reliable, some of the terrain may take longer than expected, especially in adverse weather.

Take some mates or leave everyone in your dust, ride the lot or jump on for part of it, then hop on a train. Tent, bivy, motels or other, this adventure is yours to make of it what you will.

Unless you're a fan of phrases like 'would have', 'could have' and 'should have', this is the moment to have a go at a bike packing trip.

There is no support offered of any kind, all riders must be self-sufficient.

To get amongst the action on Curve events please read and complete the registration and waiver on the Curve Cycling website: curvecycling.com/pages/ride-event-need-to-know?_pos=1&_sid=c8af5d6f6&_ss=r

IMPORTANT

This two day social pace flashpacking trip is aimed at people who are new to flashpacking. A good guide as to whether you’re ready to join this party; could you comfortably ride the distances and vertical meters advertised without gear on your bike with a few short stops? Carrying gear on your bike adds a little challenge and that’s just what we are after on this journey; just the right amount of challenge, with like minded people. If you’re unsure if this journey is for you but you’re interested, let’s talk! April would love to hear from you april@curvecycling.com

All bookings are through Eventbrite HERE

The cost to attend is $90 plus the Eventbrite fee ($). This is the total cost of your shared accommodation for one night. In addition, you are responsible for the cost of all snacks, meals and drinks.
There will be 12 places available (7 men/7 womxn). If needed, a waitlist may be available.

CANCELLATIONS

If you can no longer attend, you must let us know so we can take another rider. We organise all costs upfront and have to cover all riders in the event of no-shows. Refund policy as follows:
- Two weeks out - full refund
- One week out - 50% refund
- 48 hrs out - no refund
If we (Curve) has to cancel the event due to any circumstances you will be fully refunded, including fee.

ALSO

You must ride safely and within your ability all weekend. Do not put others at risk. If you do ignore this you will be asked to leave the group.

Finally, these weekends are a success through the combined effort of everyone who attends. Riders come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and ages. Please respect each other, and help each other out if you see an opportunity arise. Any of us can have a bad day. Just like any of us can get a string of bike mechanicals. So let’s look out for one another.

If you have any questions, we are always available. There are no dumb questions, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.
